Jennifer Griffin, BS, MBA Candidate
Practice Manager

Jen

Jennifer joined the AFAH team as the Practice Manager when we opened in December 2002. She has over ten years of veterinary hospital experience, seven years of which have been in a management role. Jennifer has chosen this line of work because she is intrigued by medicine, enjoys the challenges of a small business environment, and has true commitment to the human-animal bond.

Tip Jennifer graduated from the University of Maryland in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science (Biology with emphasis in Endocrinology). She is currently enrolled in the Accelerated MBA Program at George Washington University where she will obtain her Masters of Business Administration in the summer of 2006. In addition, Jennifer has attended several veterinary management conference and seminars.

Jen chose a career in veterinary medicine because it is the only job that causes her to jump out of bed the second the alarm clock goes off. After years of experience in field of veterinary medicine, Jennifer still wakes up in the morning and cannot wait to get to work. For Jen, working with animals is always fulfilling and the relationships that she builds with her clients and fellow employees are lasting and meaningful.

Tippy

A true friend to animals, Jen shares her home with four cats and three dogs, and is proud to say that all of her pets are rescues. Samantha is a tabby cat that was hit by a car and rushed into beagthe animal hospital to be treated for shock. She was saved by the veterinary team, but had no home to return to, so Jen quickly adopted her. Perushka is a little tortie that has chronic issues related to an upper respiratory infection that she had as a kitten. King and Peanut also found themselves homeless after their human caregiver passed away. Doobie, a shaggy little dog, was abandoned at an animal hospital. Tipsy, her Border Collie mix, was found roaming the streets of North Carolina - covered in fleas and ticks and starving. Last but not least, there is Brandy (AKA “the beagle”); she was heartworm infested, Lyme positive, and homeless. Jennifer provided a home to them all and is glad to report that they are all now healthy, well fed, and happy! And NO, she is not looking to adopt anymore.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys oil painting, listening to and supporting local music, and eating copious amounts of ice cream. Her favorite activities are those spent with her fiancé, friends, and family.
