Kate Tindall
Senior Veterinary Assistant

Kate

Kate joined the AFAH team as a Veterinary Assistant in September 2004. Since then she has been promoted to Senior Veterinary Assistant, supervising the evening and weekend shifts. She has worked in the veterinary field for over five years and has a great deal of surgical assisting experience. Kate has chosen this line of work because she has a true love of animals and wishes to become a Veterinarian one day.

A native of Northern Virginia, Kate graduated from Osbourn High School in Manassas, Virginia in 1997. After graduation, she moved to Florida to take pre-med classes at Florida Southern College. Kate soon realized that her love of science and animals was too strong to deny. She decided to steer away from the pre-med track to focus towards becoming a Veterinarian. Kate chose to attend pre-veterinary classes at the University of Maryland in College Park. After 2 years she moved closer to her family, in Northern Virginia, and is presently enrolled at the Northern Virginia Community College taking the last few classes necessary to obtain her Associates Degree in Biology. She will be awarded her AA in the Spring of 2006.

Kate shares her home with three domestic short haired cats and two dogs. Lucy, her girl kitty is the bully of the bunch. Her other female cat, Vidaliah, is crazy and speaks her mind. And then there is Woozle, her only boy kitty. Kate describes him as having no coordination and as “a metrosexual”. Charlotte is her youngest dog, a lab mix. Last, but certainly not least…there’s Winnie, the Bichon. Winnie is the old lady of the house.

When she is not at work, Kate enjoys reading, playing the piano, shopping, hiking and camping.

As part of the AFAH team Kate contributes a wealth of veterinary knowledge and technical abilities. In addition, she is a true animal lover with a sense of compassion. She gives 100% of herself to every case that she is assigned to and gives every patient her personal attention. We are happy to have Kate on our team!
